If you are still using physical keys to control who gets into your building, you are probably spending more time than you should managing them than you should. Access control systems replace keys with cards, fobs, or smartphone credentials that you can add and remove in seconds. We install access control systems across London for offices, hotels, industrial sites, and residential buildings. We are Paxton-certified, which means we are trained and qualified to install the full Paxton range, one of the most widely used access control platforms in the UK. From a single door to a multi-site operation, we design and install systems that fit what your business actually needs.
The core of an access control system is a reader at each door you want to control, a controller that processes the credentials, and an electric lock or strike that releases when the credential is valid. We install all three, along with the cabling and the management software that lets you run the system day to day.
Paxton Net2 is the system we install most often for commercial sites. It runs on a PC or server on your network and gives you a clear dashboard showing who has accessed which door and when. You can add users, remove credentials for leavers, set time zones so a staff member can only enter during working hours, and pull access reports for any door or user. If someone leaves the company, you remove their credential in the software. No lost key, no lock replacement.
For hotels, we install systems that integrate with your property management software so that guest room access is tied to your booking system. We have done this type of installation for some of London's larger hotel groups and understand what hospitality operations need.
For sites requiring a higher level of security, we also install two-factor access that requires both a credential and a PIN. For external perimeter gates, we install vehicle access systems including barriers and intercom units. Whatever your setup, we survey the site first and design a system around it.
Older 125 kHz proximity fobs can be cloned with cheap, widely available tools, so for sensitive areas we specify encrypted credentials that are far harder to copy. We explain the risk in access card cloning: is your building at risk?. We also integrate access control with your CCTV and intruder alarms, so a door event can bring up the nearest camera, covered in our guide to integrated access control.
Our engineer visits your site for a free survey. We look at each door or gate you want to control, identify where controllers and readers will be positioned, and understand how you want to manage users.
We put together a written proposal covering equipment, cabling, software licences where required, and the total price.
On installation day, we fit the readers, controllers, and locks, run the cabling, and commission the system. We create your initial user database and set up time zones and access levels.
Before we leave, we show your site administrator how to add users, remove access, and pull reports. We also provide documentation and our direct contact details for any questions.
We install access control systems across London and into Surrey, Kent, Buckinghamshire, and Middlesex. If you want to find out what a Paxton system would cost for your site, call 020 3302 6838 or fill in the contact form. We offer a free site survey with no obligation.
---- FAQ -----
Q: What happens if a member of staff leaves or loses a fob? A: You revoke that credential instantly in the management software. No changing locks, no reissuing keys to everyone, and every change is logged. This is the main advantage of access control over physical keys.
Q: What happens if the power goes off? A: Our installations include battery backup. Electric locks can be set to fail-safe (release on power loss, for fire safety) or fail-secure (stay locked), depending on your requirements and building regulations. We agree this with you at the survey.
Q: Can I manage the system remotely? A: Yes. Paxton systems can be accessed through a web browser or the Paxton mobile app, so you can add or remove users without being on site. We set this up as part of the installation.
Q: How many doors can one system cover? A: Paxton Net2 manages hundreds of doors across multiple buildings. Whether you have one office door or a multi-site operation, the same platform handles it.
Q: Can access control integrate with CCTV? A: Yes. We install both and can configure a door event to trigger the nearest camera to record or show a live view. We design this at the survey stage.
Q: Do you install door entry and intercom systems? A: Yes. We install audio and video door entry with remote release for both commercial and residential properties.
